Lexus has filed a trademark application for 'LC F' in Europe, confirming that a sportier version of the sexy, rear-drive coupe is in the works.
Itís no secret the Lexus
LC F is coming, with previous reports saying the high-performance variant has been approved by Toyota
president Akio Toyoda. Although Lexus
itself hasnít confirmed itís in the works, it makes sense considering the automakerís push for its F performance sub-brand, which currently offers the RC F and GS F variants.
It is expected that the LC F will have more aggressive styling along with various aerodynamic bits and carbon fiber. Donít be surprised if Lexus draws some inspiration from its LFA supercar.
Itís unclear what will power the Lexus
LC F, but rumors say it could be a twin-turbo V8 engine pushing around 600 horsepower. The Lexus RC F and GS F models are powered by a 5.0-liter V8 with 467 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque without the aid of any forced induction.
Donít expect to see the Lexus LC F this year, since itís expected to debut in 2018. The company could surprise us with a thinly veiled concept, however, to get people excited for the real deal.
