The revised hybrid powerplant features a 286 horsepower V6 and a 52-hp electric motor (338-hp combined) acting as the top end model for the GS series, replacing the powerful but aging Lexus V8.

    Here are the specs for the GS450h motor.

    • Engine: 3.5L V6 DOHC with variable valve timing and four valves per cylinder
    • Electric / premium unleaded fuel
    • Fuel economy: EPA (08):, 22 MPG city, 25 MPG highway, 23 MPG combined and 396 mi. range
    • Gasoline direct fuel injection
    • 17.2gallon fuel tank
    • Power (SAE): 340 hp @ 6,400 rpm;
    • Secondary power: 292 hp and 267 lb ft

    A V6 hybrid would make sense. Seems very similar to the new Acura NSX. Looks like Lexus is giving up the V8 in all but their top F sport models. The new LS should still be a V8 though.

    i think that a V6 multiple would appear sensible and i believe that it would do really great. Looks like Lincoln is providing up the V8 in all but their top designs.
